Patrick Stump Drops ‘Truant Wave’ EP

Posted:

Fall Out Boy singer Patrick Stump’s solo debut EP, Truant Wave, hit iTunes today.  The six-track EP, which can be heard on his Facebook page, is a prelude to this summer’s full-length solo album.

“A formal album releases take so much time to prepare, so I’d like to announce the release of Truant Wave, a digital EP I’ve put together of songs I felt strongly about but didn’t have place for within the narrative of Soul Punk,” Stump said in a statement.

“Having recorded Soul Punk as the sole performer and writer, creating Truant Wave also presented a welcome opportunity for me to work with some of my gifted friends on my solo material.”

As his  a cappella Michael Jackson Tribute video from a couple of weeks might have suggested, the new R&B tunes are heavily influenced by the King of Pop.

Head here to hear the tunes and to purchase, visit iTunes.

Track Listing:
Porcelain (feat. Alph-A-Bit)
Spotlight (Oh Nostalgia)
Cute Girls (feat. Om’mas Keith)
Love, Selfish Love
As Long As I Know I’m Getting Paid
Big Hype (feat. D.A. of Chester French and Driis)

Twisted Sister’s Jay Jay French Readies Pinkburst Guitars for Auction

Posted:

Over the last three years, Twisted Sister rhythm guitarist John French Segall commissioned Gretsch and a dozen other guitar makers to custom design a lineup of 25 exquisite “pinkburst” guitars, basses and amplifiers for the Pinkburst Project, which will benefit research into uveitis, a disease responsible for 10 percent of blindness in the United States. French’s 17-year-old daughter Samantha was diagnosed with the disease at age 6.

The finished collection is featured in Premier Guitar’s February issue, which features a custom-built Gretsch G6120 on its cover.

The guitars will be auctioned off on May 1 during the Skinner Fine Musical Instruments Auction in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to the auction, Twisted Sister will also throw a concert, “The Pinkburst Project: An Evening with Twisted Sister and Friends benefiting the Ocular Immunology and Uveitis Foundation,” on Friday, April 29 at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square. Tickets are now on sale here.
