The Gretsch Electromatic G5448T Double Jet made the cut on Music Radar’s Six Of The Best: Retro-style guitars, amps and basses list.
“Paying tribute to the Gretsch Duo Jet, this Chinese-made Bigsby-equipped retro rocker has tones to match its sparkling looks,” said MusicRadar.

The Flaming Lips embarked on an ambitious project this week with an aim on breaking the Guinness World Record of most concerts played in multiple cities during a 24-hour period.
The Flaming Lips enlisted a corps of openers, as well, tabbing Grimes, Neon Indian, Gary Clark Jr., Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, and Givers.
The group also brought along Chris Pontius of Jackass fame to provide entertainment during the trip.
The Flaming Lips booked eight shows that took place June 27 and 28 in Memphis, Clarksdale, Oxford, Jackson, Hattiesburg, Biloxi, Baton Rouge and New Orleans in conjunction with the O Music Awards.
To prepare for the trip, Pontius stopped by the Gretsch Artist Showroom to pick up a guitar, which can be seen in the picture below.

Green Day is at it again, releasing a trailer and album cover for the second in their upcoming trilogy of albums, which will be titled ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tre!
Having already dropped a trailer for ¡Uno!, view the next installment – along with a taste of new music – in the video below:
¡Uno! is due out Sept. 25, ¡Dos! will be available on Nov. 13 and ¡Tre! caps the series on Jan. 15, 2013.

Gretsch guitars and Cream City Music are excited to announce the Gretsch Day Event, taking place on June 30, 2012, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Cream City Music store on 12505 West Bluemound Road in Brookfield, Wisc.
The event, which is free of cost and open to the public, will feature continuous musical performances by Bluegrass guitar pickers Nik & Sam, fingerstyle guitarist Bobby Gibson, and acoustic guitar sensation Jake Allen. Guests making very special appearances include Fred Gretsch, the fourth-
generation owner of the iconic Gretsch Guitar Company, and Gretsch Guitars Product Specialist, Joe Carducci, who will be presenting their annual Fred & Joe Show.
In addition, guitar artist Sarah Gallenberger will unveil her newest masterpiece painted on a Gretsch G6120 guitar. This one-of-a-kind Gretsch will be up for grabs in an online auction benefitting the Milwaukee-based charity Guitars for Vets.
Special offers on Gretsch products and guitars will be available to attendees throughout the day, along with a special Gretsch gift bag for the first 20 guests through the door.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame naturally has an extensive Beatles exhibit, and that collection was recently bolstered by the addition of John Lennon’s 1963 Gretsch G6120DC guitar.
Howard Kramer, the H.O.F.’s curatorial director, explained that Lennon that the guitar was mainly kept in the studio.
“John picked up this guitar in 1966. He used it in the sessions for ‘Paperback Writer, but in fact, he never even played it on stage,” Kramer said.
