With a backdrop of crystal blue waters, beautiful blue skies and mid-70s temperatures, the Fifth-Annual Lake Havasu Rockabilly Reunion festival drew 11,000-plus attendees from Feb. 15-17. If you appreciate hotrod cars, pinup girl contests and twanging Gretsch guitars, Lake Havasu State Park (Arizona) was indeed the place to be. (more…)

Ask most people about music in the 1990s, and they’ll probably point to grunge’s dominance during the early part of the decade and bubblegum pop towards the end as main mile markers.
Gretsch artists and their trusty guitars certainly had several standout moments in those areas. But whether it was the straightforward punk from Tim Armstrong and Rancid or the infectious rockabilly of Brian Setzer, Gretsch played a big part in many other genres, as well. (more…)

After taking a hiatus in 2010, Fall Out Boy recently reunited, announcing a new album Save Rock and Roll and supporting tour this May and June.
As part of their comeback, the band stopped by the Jimmy Kimmel Live stage to perform the album’s lead single, “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up).”
For an added bonus, each member of Fall Out Boy donned a skeleton costume to add some drama to the proceedings.

While in Tokyo recently, Carly Rae Jepsen tabbed guitarists Tavish Crowe and Jared Manierka to play a stripped-down version of the song “Curiosity” for Billboard.
The title track from her 2012 EP is typically an upbeat dance track, but this acoustic version quiets things down considerably. With an impressive skyline in the background, the trio certainly picked a picturesque place to film.

Electro-rock legends Depeche Mode have returned with a video for their song “Heaven,” which is the lead single from their upcoming album Delta Machine. Directed by Timothy Saccenti, features the band playing in a cathedral while images of a Tree of Life and masked figures are interspersed throughout.
Delta Machine will be out March 26 before Depeche Mode head out on a three-month European tour.
