Roddy Hart was recently booked for a week-long residence on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson with his band the Lonesome Fire, and the Scottish singer/songwriter definitely brought the heat.
One of the highlights of the residency was the single “Bright Light Fever,” which comes off Roddy Hart and the Lonesome Fire’s self-titled 2013 album. That performance prompted Ferguson to exclaim, “There’s your Glasgow rock and roll right there!”

L.A.-based Americana band the Far West just released their sophomore album Any Day Now, and to promote the new effort, they’ve dropped a music video for the alt-country track “Bright Side.”
While the album was recorded at a vintage hot rod shop in Southern California, the band chose to film the video in a more traditional Americana venue.
“The Grand Ole Echo is a country and Americana music institution in Los Angeles,” said bassist Robert Black. “It’s been running every Sunday in the summers for almost a decade. We play it once a year, and we couldn’t believe no one had used it as a backdrop for a video yet. It’s got kind of a family vibe for us, and we wanted to try to capture that.”
