Gretsch caught up with Rancid at Center Staging in Burbank, Calif., as they rehearsed for their upcoming run of shows with Blink-182. The two-week run in support of Blink-182 (also featuring Against Me and My Chemical Romance) kicks off on Aug. 25 in Winnipeg and wraps on Sept. 4 in Denver. Immediately following, the punk rock outfit will headline four shows of their own.
Tour dates available here.
Rancid has been taking an extended break for the last 18 months, but plan to return to the studio after the tour to record their eighth studio album with Brett Gurewitz.
“We thought that these shows would help us to get our chops up before going into the studio,” the band states on their official website. “It’s always good for us to go out and play some shows, just to get us ready before going into the studio, and that helps bring that live energy to tape.”
