The crew at MusicRadar was quite impressed by the Gretsch Electromatic G5435T Pro Jet, giving it four out of five stars in a recent review.
“The Pro Jet and Double Jet are perfect for Gretsch virgins seeking out great build, playability, tone and good looks,” wrote the website.
MusicRadar also said the guitar is a good way to get your hands on an affordable Gretsch and that it’s “a whole lot of very cool guitar for the money.”

I owned a Duo Jet or Pro Jet back in 1972ish. It was most likely a 1962-64 (from what I’ve read). It had the snap on “buckle rash prevention pad” on the back.
Is it my imagination or was it really black with gold hardware? I’ve never seen one like it since and even our local, Mister Guitar Encyclopedia, has no records of the black and gold combo.
Some how you have used an old photo ! this is not the new pro jet !
