The Reverend Horton Heat have been a favorite in the rockabilly scene for decades and continue to be one of the hardest touring rock bands out there.
On Tuesday, Aug. 20, he’ll be playing a show at Reggie’s in Chicago at 8:30 p.m., but before that, the Reverend will stop by Chicago Music Exchange for a meet and greet and brief live performance from 2-4 p.m.

Chicago Music Exchange recently pulled out a Gretsch White Penguin for a demo, playing the guitar through a JHS Pollinator Fuzz for a distortion tone and a Line 6 ToneCore Verbzilla for ambient reverb.
“The Gretsch White Penguin is considered by many to be the epitome of classic electric guitars featuring all the glitter and glitz of the Falcon with the sleek styling of the Jet,” the dealer wrote on its official YouTube account. (more…)

This month, the folks over at Chicago Music Exchange featured a gold Gretsch Sparkle Jet in their ongoing series of product demos.
Sales manager Brian Westfall explained the history behind the guitar and played a variety of songs and tones in the showcase.
