Mollin-Produced Mathis Album Nominated for Grammy
Posted: January 19, 2011
When romantic crooner Johnny Mathis elected to make his first ever full country album, he turned to renowned record producer and Gretsch artist Fred Mollin for an assist. Together they assembled a group of the most talented musicians in Nashville to record songs handpicked by Mathis.
Recorded in a Nashville studio in less than a week with engineer Kyle Lehning, Let it Be Me includes “What a Wonderful World” featuring Lane Brody, while its title track includes vocals by Alison Krauss.
The formula was a success as the album has been nominated for a Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.
The Grammy awards will be announced on Feb. 13.
