Premier Guitar recently caught up with the guys in Fall Out Boy during a tour stop just outside of Nashville, and frontman Patrick Stump walked them through all his gear, including his signature Stump-O-Matic guitar.
“When I had this designed, I really was going for something that was a Swiss Army knife,” Stump said. ”I wanted something that could accomplish everything. I have a big collection of vintage guitars, and it’s really fun to play around with them, but on stage, on a tour, I want something that is consistent and easy.”

Since February 2013, Fall Out Boy has been releasing one music video at a time in support of Save Rock and Roll as part of an ongoing series titled The Young Blood Chronicles.
The Chronicles, which featured appearances from album collaborators Courtney Love, Big Sean and Foxes, as well as cameos from 2 Chainz and Tommy Lee, tell the story of a famous band that goes to Hell and back, wrestling with fame, fortune, drugs and zombie strippers along the way.
The band unveiled the final two chapters of their epic music video series Wednesday night with vignettes for “Miss Missing You” and “Save Rock and Roll,” the latter of which stars Elton John.
Watch the videos below, which feature singer Patrick Stump on his signature Gretsch Stump-O-Matic and guitarist Joe Trohman rocking a Gretsch White Falcon.
As their album Save Rock and Roll continues to burn up the radio waves, Fall Out Boy was recently featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where they tore through two of their new tracks.

Fall Out Boy is back and better than ever in 2013, and so is singer/guitarist Patrick Stump’s signature Gretsch guitar model, the G5135CVT-PS Stump-O-Matic Patrick Vaughn Stump Signature Electromatic® CVT, as seen (and heard) below.
In this video clip, Stump himself gives you a guided tour of the guitar, which now features a white finish with gray “competition” stripes for a cleanly elegant look with a dash of attitude. In a variety of styles, he gets a variety of sounds from its tonally versatile three-pickup design with special electronics—going from crushing full-on distortion one minute to sharply clean funk-style rhythm tone the next, and even convincingly rich acoustic-like tone, too. And watch as he “plays” the kill switch …
Fall Out Boy definitely gave the fans what they wanted at their Reading Festival set, rolling through several of their greatest hits, such as “Sugar, We’re Going Down” and “This Ain’t a Scene, It’s an Arms Race.”
In addition, Fall Out Boy touched on two of their popular new songs, “The Phoenix” and “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light ‘Em Up),” which come off their recently-released album Save Rock and Roll.
