The summer blockbuster movie season is upon us, and we’ve got movies on the mind after thinking about some of the best Gretsch moments that have graced the silver screen over the years.
From rock to country to rockabilly, bands both real and fictitious have reached for Gretsch instruments, whether electric or acoustic.

A completely unexpected act of kindness occurred when Bono invited a fan onstage during U2′s concert at the Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville on July 2.
Adam Bevell, a 32-year-old blind guitarist from Arizona, sat in the front row of the concert holding up a sign that read “Blind Guitar Player, Bring Me Up!” Before he knew it, he was holding Bono’s Gretsch Irish Falcon and accompanying the band’s frontman to “All I Want Is You” before a crowd of 50,000 fans.
At the end of the heartfelt performance, Bono gifted Bevell with his Gretsch guitar.

U2 kicked off the rescheduled leg of its American tour Saturday night in front of an 80,000-plus crowd at Invesco Field, the home stadium for the Denver Broncos.
Watch below as U2 perform a cover of “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” before segueing into hit “Where the Streets Have No Name.”

U2 performed their Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark track “Boy Falls From the Sky” live for the first time during their second show in Portugal on Sunday night. The song originally debuted when actor Reeve Carney, who plays Peter Parker in the upcoming Spider-Man Broadway musical, performed the song on Good Morning America.
