Re: International Query

Hi Gretsch family

I'm posting a query 'cause I need to know!

I live in South Africa and I'm saving up for a Gretsch Synchromatic guitar, shortly to be followed by an Electromatic with a Bigsby tail-piece. (I've played them and I love the rich, fat sound. I play and write mainly rock music with a progressive bluesy flavor.) When I subscribed to become part of the Gretsch community, I discovered that there is no inclusion for anybody outside of the USA.

As a musician (and a soon to be) Gretsch owner, I would really like to be included.

Gretsch is well represented and sold here in SA. Please include us

Many thanks

Colin

Hi there, new Gretsch player here (although OLD guitar player at 49 y, played since 8)

Having played Strat and lately Les Paul I was looking for something 'Rockabilly' with that open, full, reckless Bigsby sound and there it was: Gretsch G6118T Double Anniversary in that too-cool two tone green colour. It was as new and had an incredible sound so I got it off course and I have to practice some Rockabilly tunes now!

And that's not all - he also had an absolute gorgeous, over-the-top Cadillac sparkly green Gretsch G5570 Elliot Easton with TV Jones pickups and I know it's Chinese made but it was perfectly built with no flaws anywhere, also in perfect condition and with a great brilliant sound.

And both guitars have been signed on the trussrod cover by Fred Gretsch, how cool is that?

Bonjour y'all!

Sorry, no, I'm not a French Canadian; I'm in the UK.
Just bought a G5420 in Cadillac Green and I'm absolutely overjoyed with it. Wanted orange - well, Gretsches should be orange, right? - but they only had a used G5120 in orange... I rarely end up with the colour I wanted, then again, I rarely get my hair cut the way I wanted :)
Been playing 30 years, I have 1 or 2 other guitars (I think this is the 20th? ), have always played solids, always fancied a Gretsch, even though it wouldn't suit what I play(ed). Anyway, decided to treat myself... and now I'm middle aged, who knows?
Did I mention, I'm overjoyed with it???
:D
Cheers
