5200 Series Double Jet w TV Jones Classic / Classic Plus

Wasn't happy with my Electromatic Double Jet tone. Bought it in new 2009. The mini-humbuggies just couldn't cut through with the whole band, and the overall tone was never that great. Had a chance to throw in a TV Jones Classic in the neck and a Classic Plus in the bridge.

Um...different guitar! The thing sounds amazing. It's jangly when strumming, and biting on leads. Have had the upgrade for a few weeks now and I am literally playing different because of the sound I can get.

Anyone else throw that TV Jones combo in their Electromatic and compare it to a Pro Duo Jet?

I still don't dig the plastic feel of the neck and fretboard. Suggestions there? Other than the obvious...save up for an American made model.
